Needless to say 2016 has been a busy year for us thus far. So busy that we have secured the rights to some of the top lines and most sought after designers in the House and Home World.

Jonathan Adler was a fun addition bringing an irreverant sensibility to the table top arena. With his modern art views and dedication to Dali, he has certainly taken Lotus down the rabbit hole with whimsical design choices

The Wedgwood/Waterford group was a real feather in our cap. With years of design and history behind them, we are proud to showcase their house lines as well as the Vera Wang and Gordon Ramsey Collection.

Tea Forte - known by its distinctive pyramid shape and spearmint topper, the brand known in every first class cabin from here to Dubai added a gourmet sensibility to afternoon tea.

So what's next? How about Anthropologie, Kelly Wearstler, and Le Creuset to name a few. We are excited to also announce BROOKFOODS - a gourmet store experience like no other, coming soon. We love having you grow with the Lotus

<![CDATA[Wayfair at your doorstep]]> http://lotuswares.com/blog/postwayfair-at-your-doorstep http://lotuswares.com/blog/postwayfair-at-your-doorstep Mon, 24 Aug 2015 00:00:00 GMT We are thrilled to announce our new partnership with Wayfair, All Modern, Birch Lane and Dwell Studios.

Lotus has always been a leader in new trends and our recent partnership is no exception but how does it work?

Clients should make wish lists or "Idea Boards" on any one of the site mentioned above and "share" them with Lotus. You must be registered with Lotus to do so.

Step 1 : Go to www.lotuswares.com and click Log In or Register in the top right corner. You will be sent and e-mail to update your password and voila you're done

Step 2 : Register on any or all of the sites as noted (Wayfair, All Modern, Birch Lane and/or Dwell Studios)

Step 3 : Add the items of interest to an "Idea Board" You can make more than one board if you would like separate quotes

Step 4: Share the idea board by clicking the envelope icon on the top right of your list and emailing the link to lotuswares@gmail.com. Please include your name and e-mail address in the comments section so we can keep track!

Step 5 : Wait for quote, say yes and love your items.

Terms: Lotus will quote clients on items selected and prices will be shown in TT Dollars inclusive of all Duties and Taxes including VAT.

We will email a quote to you within 5 business days of your request and will include the approximate shipping times of the item

Payment term are 50% deposit (non-refundable once order has been placed) and 50% upon arrival in Trinidad

Any orders over $2000 are eligible for free delivery, all other items can be collected at our store

Payments can be made via cash, credit card, linx or certified cheque

Have questions? Here are some common ones.

1. How long will my item take? - Shipping into Trinidad and clearance can take from 6-10 weeks based on customs. Lotus has no control on Customs delays and cannot be held responsible for such. Need it faster? Ask us for a quote by Air for 10 day delivery

2. Can I order anything on the site? - YES, the sky is the limit. If they sell it, so do we. Lotus does not do installation, pieces will be collected or delivered in the condition by seller (some assembly may be required)

3. Can I return an item? - No, all items are specially ordered for you so deposits and payments are non-refundable

4. Why does it seem more expensive? - Landed costs are not just the price of the item multiplied by the exchange rate (6.45) we also include inland freight, shipping to Trinidad, brokers fees, insurance, duties and VAT. If you want an average cost on the item multiply by 16 for an idea. (We will get a corporate price and give you the discount but this formula helps for a maximum idea of how much an item can be landed)

5. What is my order is below $2000 and I want delivery? - We can charge a small transportation fee for delivery starting at $100 and maximum $500 based on area and size of products. Ask us for a quote on this based on your conditions.

6. I am a designer, can I get a discount? - We work with designers to quote on pieces per job. Contact us to get more details.

Happy Shopping!!

<![CDATA[The Dream Job project]]> http://lotuswares.com/blog/postthe-dream-job-project http://lotuswares.com/blog/postthe-dream-job-project Wed, 12 Aug 2015 00:00:00 GMT Lotus has begun its search for the perfect candidate to join us in our continuing attempt to make every home part of the #lotuslifestyle.

For those of you not as familiar with us, we pride ourselves on being more than a shopping experience. We help you build your home with specific focus on stylish pieces unique to our company and well established brands that match our own reputation.

Yes, Yes but what do I have to do?

Lotus needs a person of taste. We can teach you our computer system, train on how to fill out form but we cannot train a discerning eye and an overall need to give the customer the right advice with a personal touch. The candidate must:

1. Run day to day sales and operations at our retail location

2. Manage bridal registry appointments and research

3. Keep basic accounting and administrative documents in order for submission

4. Assist in the ordering and direction of stock

5. Manage relationships with our wholesale partners

The fun part has always been the shopping. We need someone who will assist us in choosing the look on incoming stock for the store (Yes that translates to you get paid to shop!) Brides are a huge part of what we do, the individual must assist in managing their expectations, guide their choices and help them them build a home. Of course there are come accounting things too like doing VAT, PAYE and NIS.

Most of all, we want someone to enjoy themselves, want to come to work and become and integral part of what we represent. A shopping experience in Trinidad that actually focuses on customer care!

We are flexible, offer all the usual suspects in benefits (including employee discounts!) and need someone who is there for the long haul. Lotus will sorely miss our current Supervisor who has been a huge part of getting us to where we are, so we look forward to the next person going even further.

Email resumes to lotuswares@gmail.com and as for dollars and cents, we will discuss that in person!

Come on board and become a part of the Lotus Lifestyle

<![CDATA[Forage - Our Guest Chef's Thoughts]]> http://lotuswares.com/blog/postforage-our-guest-chefs-thoughts http://lotuswares.com/blog/postforage-our-guest-chefs-thoughts Tue, 03 Apr 2012 00:00:00 GMT Artists, they use their inspiration and their environment to conjure up from the depths of their imagination, an artifact to not only showcase to the world but to share. From a painting to a symphony to a 7 course tasting, these byproducts of inspirational creativity all share one common denomination, the canvas. Before Bach wrote the Toccata and Fugue in D minor; The first thing he laid eyes on was a blank sheet of paper staring at him, daring him to write history.

Chefs too have to face the music (pun intended) when it comes to creating a dish. A meal can shine or flop depending on the serving vessel;likewise one dish may tell several stories varying on how it is presented. So back to inspiration! Browsing through different plates is like going through different palates for a painting. As an artist you select what effect you not only want to achieve but also what experience you want to share.
